28 years. That's how long Scotland supporters have been waiting for this. A generation of fans who lived through every near miss, every playoff heartbreak, every "maybe next time". And now next time is actually here.

We wanted to mark it properly. Not with a social media post. Not with a limited drop that sells out. With something you can actually show up to. Something that celebrates the very best of what Scottish football culture looks like right now.

Come Find Us on Thistle Street

From Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th June, we're opening a pop-up shop in the heart of the capital at 25A Thistle Street, Edinburgh EH2 1DX.

Our doors will open at 10am and close at 6pm each day. No tickets. No registration. Just come in.

Scotland's first game against Haiti kicks off early on the Sunday morning, so the Saturday is the day — the last chance to get something sorted before the tournament is actually underway. But we'll be there across all three days, and we'd love to see you at any point.

It's Not Just Us

We've pulled together some of the best independent Scottish football culture brands around to be part of this.

Alongside Universal Language, you'll find Nutmeg and ScotBall, as well as a carefully picked selection of Scottish-based designers, each bringing their own take on what it means to support Scotland in 2026.

Everyone in that room cares about Scottish football. Everyone makes things for fans, by fans. People who wanted to do something worth doing for the people who turn up every week and actually care.

The whole thing is backed by Moonwake Beer, one of Edinburgh's own independent craft breweries, based just along the Water of Leith. It felt like an obvious fit. Moonwake do things their own way, on their own terms, in their own city — same as everyone else in the room. Expect their beer to be cold and the company to be good.

Got a brand and want to be part of it? There's still time — get in touch!

What We'll Have

The full Scotland World Cup 2026 collection will be there, including pieces that have only ever been available online until now. If you've been sitting on the fence about something, this is the chance to see it properly before you buy.

Anything currently showing as out of stock online will also be available to purchase - but whilst stocks last. And alongside the collection, we'll have a small run of one-off pieces such as tote bags and a few other bits, that aren't available on the webstore.

Come early if you want first pick.

Why This Matters to Us

Universal Language started because we believed Scottish football culture deserved better representation. Something with genuine feeling behind it, made by people who actually stand on the terraces and care about the result on a Saturday.

Scotland being back at the World Cup is the biggest moment in the game up here in nearly three decades. We couldn't just let it pass by with a product drop and a caption. This is something worth showing up for, and we hope you feel the same way.

We'll see you on Thistle Street.
